DAY
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world.
John 1:9

Engage in Wonder
Why do you think the very first thing God spoke into creation was "light"?
How is light central to God's story?
Why do you think God allowed darkness to continue to be half of a 24 hour period of time?
Why do you think God has us sleep during the night and wake up when it turns light? What can we learn about being born again?
Why do you think God made day/light to gradually brighten up the sky (Pro 4:18)?
Without dark/light or day/night we couldn't count days. Throughout the Bible God specified how many days an event took place. Why do you think that was important to him?
The Hebrew word for "day" can mean any period of time. Read 2 Peter 3:8 and ponder.
Since there will be not be a distinction between day/night in the new creation, what do you think it will be like? Do you think there will still be “time” or will God create something new? (Isaiah 60:19-20)

How does day/light illustrate God's story?
